In an alternate Atlanta where vampires and werewolves roam the streets, Dakota Frost turns heads. Any woman who stands 6’2” and sports an outrageous Mohawk would stand out, but Dakota is also a walking advertisement for her craft. She is a skindancer – a tattoo artist who can infuse a design with magic – and she wears her art proudly.

As the daughter of a retired cop, Dakota is not concerned when asked to come downtown to police headquarters, but she is not prepared for their current case. Someone is removing magical tattoos from living flesh. The police and federal agents think Atlanta will be the next city, and Dakota or one of her clients may be the target.

Dakota has a lot on her plate between working with the police, new and demanding clients and a magical challenge on her calendar. She is attracted to a handsome DEI agent – a real Men in Black kind of guy – but she is not sure she can trust him. Is he using her to infiltrate the Edgeworld or is he sincerely interested? Only time will tell.

Frost Moon is the first book in an exciting urban fantasy series by Anthony Francis. Readers will love Dakota – a strong woman with a soft heart – and her group of friends. Mr. Francis does an exceptional job of bringing these vivid characters to life. He has crafted a fine world, makes the rules quite clear, and then sticks to them. Dakota’s Atlanta is reminiscent of the world found in the Magic series by Ilona Andrews, but different enough that it will keep readers intrigued. Strong characters, danger and magic will enthrall readers. I am definitely looking forward to the next book in the series – Blood Rock.
