Max Lunden has come home. The traveling chef has returned to his home in Greenwich Village to help his family compete in the Rising Star Chef competition. He has grudgingly agreed to assist the team get past the qualifying round because his mother pleaded their case. He has no intentions of staying. He and his father do not agree on the direction Lundenís Tavern should take and the famous arguments settled nothing. They are all better off when he is thousands of miles away.

Although everything looks the same, there are plenty of changes at the restaurant. His brother, Danny, seems filled with resentment toward Max, but the phone works both ways, right? And little Juliet, ahem JULES, has grown into a beautiful woman and a damn fine chef. His dad, Gus, looks exhausted and his mother has worry etched into her face. Something is going on, and Max is determined to get to the bottom of it all. He may even explore his attraction toward Jules, if she will let him get close enough.

Jules Cavanaugh is glad Max is back, but wary of his reputation. He has made it clear that he is headed for Italy at the first opportunity. She wishes he would reconsider because the family needs him. She wonít admit that her girlish crush could easily turn into something serious, not if he wonít stick around.

Author Louisa Edwards has another winning novel in Too Hot to Touch. Based in familiar settings, readers will enjoy seeing old friends from previous novels as well as new faces to spice things up.

The competition is fierce, and this series is just getting started.
