Bad Girl By Night is Lacey Alexander's newest book and boy oh boy, this book is a sizzler! She never shies away from steamy romance and Jake and Carly's story is going to get your pulse racing.
Carly leads a quiet, normal life in small town Turnbridge. She is the town sweetheart. She makes furniture and her daily life is a series of routines. Most of the time that's all she needs, but sometimes her inner bad girl, Desiree, needs to be unleashed and that is when she heads out of town for a wild night of passion. This evening in particular, she meets Jake and Colt and the chemistry skyrockets between them. But come morning, Carly is gone, her wild night left behind once again...or so she thought until Jake turns up in Turnbridge, the city's newest cop.
Jake cannot believe it when he lays eyes on Desiree again. Except, the woman he knows as Desiree wants nothing to do with him. As Jake realizes that the predicament Carly is in, he wants to set her at ease but she will not have anything to do with him. But the more he pursues, the more she cannot say no. There is something unstoppable between Carly and Jake. Will they put their troubled pasts behind them to start building something wonderful?
Bad Girl By Night is incredibly raw and sexy. Lacey Alexander unleashes all her erotic writing prowess on this story and for the most part, it works very well. Carly and Jake both have issues revolving around sex from incidents in their pasts. Neither is trying to grow that close to each other, but it just happens naturally as they share very powerful love scenes. Everything worked great for me as a reader. I believed in their romance and how they fell in love. Unfortunately, Jake pulls something at the end that just did not fit very well with the rest of the story. It felt unnatural for the relationship the two had been sharing. Fortunately, this is a small point of frustration and for the most part, I truly enjoyed this story. Bad Girl By Night is the first book in Lacey Alexander's H.O.T. Cops series and it starts off scorching and only continues to fan the flames of passion. Definitely not for the faint of heart romance reader.
