What would you do if your whole world came unravelled? If that perfection you were striving to find turned around and hit you as hard as it could in the face. That's what happened to Isabel Murphy. Unfortunately for her, she unravelled on national TV in front of millions of people. Unable to face the thought that she disappointed anyone, she decided that taking her own life would fix everything. Or at least lessen her pain.

It was that failed suicide attempt that landed her in Three Breeze, a psychiatric hospital. While at the hospital, she had to learn how to deal with a life that would never be perfect. Isabel had to free her soul from the pain of an abusive lifestyle and a world that demanded perfection from her. She stared at the other patients and knew that she wasn't far from their side of the world. She had to teach herself how not to travel there with them.

Isabel Murphy is a character that represents a part of us all who strive for perfection in our lives. Like us, she never finds it. We as readers can identify with her need to please everyone around her. We can see how that need can reach out and destroy us if we allow it to. The secondary characters in the story are written in such a way as to allow us to find a small piece of ourselves in each one. We see that in many ways, our lives are made of choices. What ever choice we make can affect how we live and how we feel.

BUT INSIDE I'M SCREAMING is a story of choices good and bad that Isabel Murphy made in her life. It's about having the courage to admit those choices were wrong. In the end, it's a story about having the courage to admit that we are not perfect and will never be.
