Kylie Brantís Deadly Dreams is the fifth suspenseful book in her Mindhunters series. This book has not been as easy to read as the others, however, because I felt like I was missing something or something were being left out. I would recommend it though - but only because I have read the other four and wanted to keep updated on all of the characters.
Risa Chandler is recuperating from an injury she received while working on a past case, and it seems as if her nightmares are starting up again. Cops are being killed, and while the crime is being committed she is dreaming the murders. She wants no part of this, but it seems as if she has no choice. She soon finds herself involved in helping Nate McGuire, who works for the Philadelphia Police Department's Homicide division.
Will Nate have any faith in her ability of knowing things? When she starts to have nightmares before things happen, will he listen to her? What will it cost her as well as her boss, Adam Raiker, as well as any of the other Mindhunters forensic criminologists? How many people will die before someone takes Risa seriously?
As for the romance part of this book, I enjoyed it and really wish it would have had more of it while all the action was going on. This was a great mystery with some romance.
For me this is not one of Kylie Brantís best. It was one of those books I could have walked away from but I kept picking the book back up for I had hoped the disappointment would pass. I am hoping that the sixth in the series, Deadly Sins will be much more interesting.
