Present Day

Archeologist Abby Porter has just finished a “girls’ night out” with her bffs from college. In a moment of drunken foolishness, Abby indulges her friends with her deepest wish, to meet the man of her dreams. What’s the old adage, careful what you wish for, because in the morning Abby wakes with not just the mother of all hangovers, but a very naked hot hunk is in her bed! Worse yet, the hunk claims to be from 700 years in the past!

Highland warrior Colin MacAlister foolishly confronted the Queen of the Fae and was cursed by her for his insolence. Colin can see, feel, and hear the crying out of all souls around him for the love of their one true mate. The worse part of the curse; Colin will never be able to end it until he finds his own soul mate, some one the queen alludes to as not being in Colin’s world. About to take part in battle with the English, Colin finds himself engulfed by a magical greenish light and transported away. Waking up in the bed of a beautiful lass is all fine and good, except when she spills that Colin is now in the 21st century!

Desperate to return to his time to aid his clan members who are sure to die in the battle he was swept from, Colin is deaf to the warnings by the fae and family members to not disturb the timeline, or history will be changed. Making Abby wish them back to 1306, brings along a new threat, a Nuadian fae who has his own evil purpose in mind for the magic flowing in Abby’s blood. Breaking the Highlander’s Curse is not without its price, as both Abby and Colin deal with all the ramifications from rewriting history.

The next installment of Melissa Mayhue’s magical Highland series arrives with Highlander’s Curse. Hero Colin is in a bit of a dilemma, he knows the outcome of the battle he was taken from. Desperate to get back so he can warn his king and save his clansmen, Colin seems oblivious and callous to the outcome of changing what must be. The chemistry is right between Abby and Colin, but it takes three quarters of the book before anything “romantic” actually happens between the two. Overall everything you have come to expect from Melissa Mayhue, romance, adventure, and a great read!
