Some would say that Nicole Montgomery had it all, a successful career and great friends; that is until a health problem changes her life for the better. Nicole takes her “second chance” and decides to do something meaningful; she trades in her business suit for simple the country life as the owner of a bed and breakfast. Fate intervenes in the form of Brad Calverton,, a guest who is destined to take up permanent residence, and in Nicole`s heart.
Renowned critic for the hospitality industry Brad picks Nicole`s bed and breakfast for a little R&R away from the media. Although he swears to remain a bachelor, there is something about Nicole’s voice that turns his defenses to mush.
Nicole knows her B&B needs some serious work, so fearing a bad review she makes repairs and invites Brad back a second time when everything is perfect. Including the spark between them, that suddenly burst into a passionate flame. Their new affair is threatened when Nicole learns of Brad`s involvement in a shady development deal, that could destroy her dreams for her home.
I enjoyed this reading Finders Keepers, the author`s description of the B&B and town were very quaint, I wish I could visit. Brad and Nicole had unresolved issues that prevent them from being together. Nicole is going through her health scare alone, and still having difficulties talking about it. Brad having never really coming to terms with his grandmother’s passing and the father he never knew. I’m happy to say this is not the last visit to the town of Glenn Knolls, there is a follow-up about Nicole`s friend Toni.
