If you have been keeping up with the Deadly series then you are in for a treat as this is Samís story. Sam is trying to come to terms with what happened on the Watchman case. She feels that everyone is watching her and just waiting for her to breakdown and fall apart. She keeps telling herself and everyone around her that she is okay and she can handle her job. Sam is normally sitting at a computer and not out in the field with the SSD, Serial Specialist Division of the FBI. But sometimes things just happen and you have to go with it.

One way she is trying to get back in control is to have no strings attached sex. She found just the man, Max Ridgeway, in a bar and it turned into a one night stand. She knew if and when she needed that fulfillment it would be Max. Including going to a high society party that she didnít like going to but went because she knew Max would be there. He was and from there things got a little hot and heavy but didnít last long.

Being part of the SSD team means you are really never off duty. When the call or text comes you have to go no matter where you are or what you are doing. Max didnít like the idea of Samantha walking away again, but he lets her go when she said it was work related. Sam left him with her last name this time when she left.

It turns out that Sam happens to be at the right place at the right time when another college boy is abducted. This time it so happens to be Quinlan, Maxís step-brother, who is abducted. Sam is there when Max receives the call. Letís just say that Max does not know what Sam does for a living and she plans to keep it that way for as long as possible.

This story will draw you in and not let you go until youíve read the last line, and then you will be looking in the back of the book to find out if another story with be forthcoming about the remaining team members. There are deceptions, lies, attempted murder, murders, and mistrust throughout, and the kidnappers are playing by their own rules when it comes to Quinlanís kidnapping. Deadly Lies is full of twists and turns and will take you on a roller coaster ride which will leave you guessing about what will happen next. I am hoping that Ms. Eden will give us more SSD stories.
