Nina Chickalini has always planned to leave Queens. Yet every time she thinks about it something holds her back. It could be her family, her three brothers and sister she single-handedly raised after her motherís death. Maybe itís the family business, the pizzeria she runs so that her Pop can stay off his feet and take it easy. Or it could be her best friend Joe Materi who has just asked her to have his baby!
Have his baby? Has Joey completely lost his mind? Nina doesnít want to be a mother to another kid. Then again she does have nine more months to kill before her trip around Europe. How can she refuse Joe? He did save her fatherís life and has been there for her through all the hard times, as the pregnancy progress Nina begins to see Joe in a new light.
Now the whole neighborhood thinks they are getting married since Nina is in the family way, Nina isnít so sure if she wants to give up her dreams and settle for love, but one look into that tiny baby face and Nina begins to have second thoughts.
The Nine Month Plan is more then just a fun love story; it is a story about what makes a family. Being friends with the person you are meant to be with for the rest of your life makes it that much more special, in Nina and Joeís case everyone else saw it before they did.
I really enjoyed reading the strong family ties the hero and heroine had to the secondary characters. If you are looking for something to get lost in on a rainy afternoon, then this is the perfect read. Fear not, this is not the last we will be seeing of the Chickalini clan Once Upon A Blind Date is the follow-up story of Dominic Chickalini.
