Julie Bradshaw’s ex-husband is found murdered and she is the prime suspect. Reporter Steve Reyes believes in her innocence and sets out to find out what really happened.

Very suspenseful romance this. Strong plotline, dealing with terrorism and murder. There is plenty of romance in the story between the two main characters. It is hot and passionate. Steve is a hero who would make any woman go weak at the knees!

Julie’s son Andrew and her estranged father, Cooper play a large role in the story, as does her mother, Grace. They are well thought out characters and very interesting in their own right.

Julie is a strong heroine, a single Mum having to make a living for her and her son. A fiercely independent lady, who is reluctant to take Steve’s help, though her passion for him is harder to control!

I really enjoyed the depth of the plot and the suspense Christaine Heggan crammed into this story, there isn’t a dull moment in the book. She even managed a very clever twist in the tale at the end, which astonished me as a reader, but did not spoil my enjoyment of the plot. It is the first time I have read a book by her but I will certainly look for more of her stories.

The setting in Monterey, is lush and beautifully described. A place worth a visit after reading the descriptions of the town and surrounding countryside.

I was sorry to part from Steve and Julia and their family and friends at the end of this story. Very well written. Provides, excitement, suspense and a great romance.
