Lady Amelia Sutherland is engaged to the great war hero, Lieutenant-colonel Richard Bennett. He is her knight in shining armor. He saved her fatherís life in battle, and he seems to be the gentleman of her dreams. Then one night she is suddenly awakened by the savage Butcher, Duncan McLean, and he is out for her fianceís blood. She is then summarily dressed, abducted and taken prisoner on the adventure of a lifetime. Being with Duncan begins to skew Ameliaís sense of right and wrong. It causes her to question her ability to see the truth in people and to question her sheltered life. The more she gets to know Duncan, the more she begins to realize her heart and body desires more than an English gentleman.

Duncan McLean, the notorious Butcher, is taken aback by the plucky English miss he has captured. She is strong, beautiful, and engaged to his arch nemesis, a brutal murderer and rapist. Duncanís emotions are at odds with what he needs to do and what his heart yearns to do. If he falls for Amelia, he is a traitor to the Scottish cause, but his heart will yearn to be with Amelia.

Captured by the Highlander is a thrilling story about love, friendship and the fight for what is right. I loved this story. It was exciting and riveting. This story had a lot of twists and turns and will cause the audience to immediately fall in love with the characters. I am a new fan.
