Alex Trudaeu, a photo-journalist living in Lake Avalon, Florida, figured her life was going lovely when it came to her profession and her pets. Now she's not so sure, since that so-called 'lovely' lifestyle has gone from lovely to perfect. Well, ever since Detective John Logan walks into town and into her life. Unfortunately, Alex ends up taking a bullet for her Gazette Reporter sister Charlie Trudeau. Strangely enough, this misfortune takes her already powerful psychic skills and enhances them - leading Alex to get harsh flashbacks from other people that should stay forgotten and buried in the past.

John Logan took himself to Lake Avalon to try and escape his history, and it seems he's done just that when he gets into a relationship with Alex. However, when a serial killer kidnaps Alex to be used as bait against John, the past he so desperately tried to escape comes running back to haunt him. What will John do to get Alex back? Can Alex leave him the clues he needs to find her? And what about this mysterious serial killer?

I enjoyed True Colors and the style that was written by Joyce Lamb but being that I did not read the book about her sister I found myself sometimes thinking I am missing something or was it explained in the previous book. As for the romance between Alex and John it was very well written. That is the one thing that kept me turning the pages to see where it would go next.
