When Gavin Hawkforte, son of an English earl and an Akoran princess, makes a startling discovery that threatens the lives of the Akoran people, he needs all the help he can get. Lovely recluse Persephone confirms his suspicions, and agrees to assist him in convincing the ruling Council that they are all in danger.

Fountain of Secrets, the second installment in Josie Littonís newest trilogy, is a gripping tale filled with danger and excitement. The romance between Gavin and Persephone is sensual and compelling. They have many obstacles to overcome, with some surprising secrets. The mythical land of Akora shines brightly, serving as a backdrop for the serious storyline.

The book is fast-paced, yet as a reader, I did not feel rushed. I wanted to get to the next page, and could not wait to see how each obstacle was overcome. I enjoyed watching as Gavin and Persephone fought through their personal issues to come together as a couple. As part of a trilogy, it would make sense to read all three books, but these are written in such a way that it is not a prerequisite. They stand alone, interesting and entertaining, as single-title novels. Of course, like french fries and M& canít possibly have just one!
