James Camplyon, Earl of Somerset, has acted with the utmost gentlemanly respect towards his intended, Patience Mims. They barely even kissed while they were engaged, but now that they are married, James is ready to dive into his wife face first, literally. All he can think about is the wedding night and how he will take pleasure in deflowering his beautiful, sexy wife. However, there seems to be a problem. Patience is not just exhibiting the usual maidenly hesitation, but James sees pure terror in her eyes.

Patience is scared to death of her wedding night, and she has no idea why. She wants to just get it over with, but every time James comes near she is both excited and freaked out. James decides to try to fix this problem. He acquires some steamy romance novels for her to read, and whatever scene she wants to act out, she will have to underline it. Patience will give the underlined passage to him in the day time and they will enact it at night. While this may solve one part of the problem, James has to strip away her past to find out the dark secrets that haunt her.

Having Patience is pretty inspiring. Simply because it is not a cut and dry love story. It actually delves into what can cause problems in the realm of intimacy. What I enjoyed most about this story is how the hero was not afraid to ask for help(No macho pride). It is interesting how the hero was horny, but still willing to help his lady. I really enjoyed this book.
