The third volume in the Black Cobra Quartet series is yet another wonderful story written by the 'Queen of Historical Romance", Stephanie Laurens.
Shipwrecked and wounded Major Logan Monteith has no memory of who he is or how he came to be in the house of Linnet Trevission, a woman who only the angels could have sent to rescue him and bring him back from the 'almost' dead. He feels that he is on some kind of important mission, a mission that could cost many lives if he does complete it...but what that mission is, he can't remember and it's maddening!
Linnet Trevission, an appointed "Queen" of her own little kingdom is used to rescuing men whom have washed up on her shores, but none os virile and beautiful, let alone 'alive'. This man could only mean trouble for her and her heart.
As pieces of Logan's memory returns, he unwittingly draws Linnet into an adventure of danger and intrigue that involves assassins, death and the infamous Black Cobra. Along the way to achieving his mission, Logan and Linnet find a passion that neither have ever experience, if only they knew that they would live long enough to see where it would take them.
I am so enjoying the Black Cobra series. Ms. Laurens writes with passion and flair. All of her characters are well written and the storylines flow seamlessly. The Brazen Bride is another keeper for your collection. Be sure to read all of the books in the series, you won't regret it!
