In a follow-up to Phoenix Unrisen, author Kathleen Nance brings readers magic, danger and romance in Dragon Unmasked.

Mages are dying violently, and Adam Zolton has been drawn into the situation. When Grace Armatrading is mentioned as a possible target, Adam knows it is too late to back off. He failed Grace once before. He will not allow her to become the next victim.

Emergency physician Grace Armatrading knows that something is happening to her magical abilities. She has blackouts where she is still working but has no recollection of what she has done. What if someone dies while in her care? Her co-workers thought she was a miracle worker, but Grace knew the truth. Something was very wrong.

Seeing Adam again is a shock to Grace. She thought she had put that attraction behind her years ago. Now it seems her heart remembers, and Grace is swept up in both an emotional and physical firestorm. She has to fight her feelings for Adam while accepting his help.

Dragon Unmasked will have readers on the edge of their seats with the suspenseful action. The plot moves at a quick pace, but never leaves the audience behind. Reading Phoenix Unrisen is not a prerequisite to this novel, but may give the reader a better understanding of the world Ms. Nance has built. I will be interested to see if she revisits this universe again in future novels.
