With Tell Me You Love Me Kayla Perrin gives us a work out. An emotional one that is. The plot is a bit trying, but then that is the entire point. When Sheldon Ford re-enters Tyanna Calhoun’s life with his farfetched tale, she’s understandably quite skeptical. Would you believe the man who dropped out of your life without so much as a decent goodbye, when he comes back with tales of mobsters and drug deals?
Initially, Tyanna doesn’t either, but what made this story interesting is that while she didn’t greet him with open arms welcoming her wayward honey bun back home, the readers definitely got to see that this is a woman who checks out the possibilities before permanently dismissing a man. So, Tyanna checks out Sheldon’s story. And as she comes to realize it’s not as farfetched as it sounds, readers are treated to a romance between a man who’s trying to do what’s right and a woman who can handle herself. Physically and emotionally, as Tyanna displays when she lays Sheldon out after he surprises her with his return. That in and of itself, ladies, is worth reading this book for.
The subplots going on in this book definitely add the right touches of intrigue and danger that will keep you reading when you get tired of reading about Tyanna debating whether to trust or not to trust Sheldon. After all we already know the answer.
Despite that Tell Me You Love Me is a good read that I’d recommend to others.
