Turn of the Century - Mercy Falls, California - Addie Sullivan has always wondered why her Mother did not love her the way a mother should. She now has the answer, she was found on a beach when she was a small child, the ship she was on was destroyed and the light keeper and his wife raised her as their own.

Walter Driscoll has just located the one person who could upend his future, Addie. He will need to play his role well if he is to achieve his goal, of not allowing the truth to be revealed that the heir of Eaton Hall has been found. He convinces Addie not to say anything to anybody who she really is, until he can know for certain they can trust them.

When Addie starts falling for Lieutenant John North, she knows she will need to tell him the truth and soon. When Addie’s life is turn upside again by threats, her and John start unraveling a long held family secret and their love blossoms in spite of the dangers. Can they untangle the mystery before the attacks become more sinister, for them to have a future together, they must put their faith in the one true Father.

If I was able to give this more than five roses, I would in a heartbeat. I could not put this book down! Colleen Coble has written a most memorable romance with mystery, family secrets and even a bad guy thrown in. The characters are lovable, and will be forever etched into the readers heart long after the book ends.
