Lady Katherine is no debutante miss at all. She can wield a knife, shoot arrows, and ride a horse as good as any man. Kat is intelligent, brave, and everything that Alex Beaumont needs in a wife, but unfortunately he does not realize it until it is too late.
Alex Beaumont has pledged his life to serving God, king, and family. When after a passionate wedding night with his innocent bride, he slips away into the darkness to fight in the Crusades. This is the ultimate betrayal for Kat. She wakes after a passionate night of marital bliss to find herself alone and heartbroken. Alex is captured and is imprisoned for several years and the only sliver of hope he has is returning to the loving, faithful arms of his beautiful wife. Well, he escapes and when he finally makes it home, surprise, his wife is about to marry another man. This is a devastating blow to Alex, but more pissed than sad he claims his wife and dares anyone to contest it.
What he does not realized is his wife is still seriously angry about the ghost act he pulled on her wedding night. Alex vows to woo his wife back to him. While he is trying to win her back, they learn that a hidden enemy is out to kill them both. So they now have two goals; to try to save their marriage and save their own lives.
Vow of Seduction is a both sensual and adventurous read. Johnsonís characters are engaging and humorous. She really does address the themes of forgiveness, love, and a personís need to feel acceptance. She even explores darker family issues. The loves scenes are hot and a little on the dominant side. I am into alpha males so Alex really gets the motor running. I really enjoyed this read. I have not read this author before, but I look forward to experiencing more of her writings.
