This is not good! Killing and then disposing of the body of the very loathsome husband of her sister Vana the White, (get it?), Viking Princess Breanne takes her four sisters on the run. They seek out asylum at the castle of Caedmon of Larkspur, a cousin of sorts to eldest sister Tyra. With a reputation as a bold daring Saxon Knight, Caedmon would surely be their best source of safeguard...or maybe not.

Upon arrival at Larkspur, the princesses are appalled by the turmoil surrounding them. There are buxom serving wenches doing everything but serving with the unruly bunch of hirdsmen of the keep. The AWOL cook has left the almost barren kitchens in inexperienced hands. Caedmon’s ten, (well, they may not all be his), motherless children are running wild through the castle halls. Having seen enough, Breanne marches up to the master’s chamber to give Caedmon a piece of her mind on the conditions of his home and family. Breanne storms in on the still sleepy lout and gets one heaping helping of eye candy!!!! The man is drop dead gorgeous!

Caedmon is not happy to hear that these Viking princesses intend to stay “indefinitely” with him, and then led by Breanne start taking over the running of his keep! Caedmon decides to play along with the devious red-haired witch, who desperately is trying to hide something from him. In her innocent attempts at seduction, Caedmon finally learns the true reason the princesses need his protection. Oh he will provide it with one small request of Breanne for payment; she will have to spend the next ten nights in Caedmon’s bed! How does a Viking princess keep from falling in love with a not so chivalrous Saxon Knight?

Hold on to your sides because they will be splitting from laughter! Viking in Love by Sandra Hill is her return to straight historical romance and gets my vote for a five rose read. Elements that have Ms. Hill’s patent stamp on them are evident throughout Viking in Love. There is the sexually charged banter between the hero and heroine, and the trademark little bits and pieces of what’s going on in the characters’ thoughts. Viking in Love is everything that fans of Hill love and expect in her novels!
