After an unexpectedly adventurous night, mousy Jackie Brighton wakes up not only in a dumpster with blood smeared on her neck, but with no clear idea of what happened to her the night before. As Jackie makes her way home she runs into Noah, the man she slept with the night before, and begins to piece together her lost night. Noah, a fallen angel, reveals that their night together along with her encounter with a vampire has caused Jackie to become a succubus.
Laughing off Noah’s absurd tale, Jackie returns to her life only to start undergoing changes. Jackie goes from an overweight and mousy woman to a bombshell almost overnight as well as having an out of control sexual appetite. Jackie turns to Noah for help and winds up being taken under the wing of another succubus. Jackie’s attraction to Noah continues to grow and when Jackie becomes the unwitting pawn between angles and vampires, she must join forces with unlikely allies or risk going to hell.
Gentleman Prefer Succubi is a fun read that will have readers grinning at the off the wall characters that both entertain and delight. Jackie is wonderfully sarcastic and quite entertaining as she attempts to find her way in this new world she finds herself in. The newfound men in Jackie’s life have delicious personalities who leave readers torn as to whom to champion and eager to watch the story develop. Jill Myles has wonderfully succeeded in creating characters that readers will not fail to find charming in all their wicked and impertinent glory. Jill Myles’ The Succubus Diaries is a series I look forward to continue reading and finding out what further adventures are in store for Jackie, and the two delectable men in her life.
