The final book in the Gemini Men trilogy has rolled off the presses. Author Jami Alden has crafted a suspenseful set of stories involving the gorgeous private investigators, and Unleashed is no exception.
Danny Taggart is the wild card in Gemini Investigations. He is the brother who is the hardest to read, hardest to get close to, and keeps his emotions tightly controlled. His hard shell disguises the feelings he tries so hard to keep hidden.
When his first love asks for help, he does everything he can to stay away. He barely survived their last parting, and whatever Caroline Medford needs spells bad news for him. He resists, until it is clear that someone wants her dead. When she finds clues pointing to his mother’s disappearance, the coincidence is too strong to deny.
Unleashed is full of danger and powerful emotions. Danny and Caroline have years of baggage to work through as they search for a killer. Can they strip bare those old wounds to finally heal each other?
I really enjoyed this trilogy. Ms. Alden kept the energy flowing and gave readers interesting multi-dimensional characters. My complete enjoyment was marred by one small detail – that the writer has no control over – the cover. The model used on the cover is lovely – really pretty – in fact way too pretty to ever be Danny Taggart. The character in the book is rugged and raw. He is masculinity personified. The cover doesn’t cut it and I almost covered the book so I would not have to see it while I was reading.
If you can get past the pretty face on the cover, you will be rewarded with a suspenseful novel filled with passion and action.
