Gwen OíNeil knew from an early age that her mother would eventually get her killed. For a hybrid shifter, life on the tough streets of Philly is hard enough. When you are Roxy OíNeilís little girl, the risks range from morbid embarrassment to brutal beatings daily. In a bid at making a life for herself away from her well-meaning but insanely overbearing family, Gwen moves to New York. She opens a plumbing business with her best friend, and by and large tries to live a non-crazy shifter life. Until she encounters Lachlan MacRyrie, the nearly seven-foot tall, sweet but dangerous-when-startled, New Jersey grizzly bear who saved her life nearly two months ago. Thatís when her life gets even crazier.

Lachlan MacRyrie is like most grizzly bear shifters. He is curious, hates to be surprised, and loves honey and salmon. So when he breaks up a fight at his friend Jessica Ward-Smithís wedding and meets the hybrid of his dreams, he knew he was in trouble. Thatís when his life gets crazier.

There are so many things about this book that appeal. The Mane Squeeze is tinkle-your-pants funny. It is full of great, charismatic characters, sexy romance, hilarity, one-liners, and some of the most richly drawn, vivid scenes in paranormal romance today. Shelly Laurenston is an author to watch, to keep, and to love.
