Con artist and thief Kyra has spent her life using her ability to take on a targets best skill and use it against them in order to survive. Now Kyra is on the run after taking revenge on the man responsible for her fatherís death. Kyra has learned not to rely on anyone but herself, but when she unexpectedly partners up with a drifter, Kyraís guarded exterior soon begins to crack.

Assassin for hire Reyes has finally caught up with his murderous target and heís not the kind of man thatís ever failed to complete a job. Reyes poses as a drifter and soon begins to not only gain Kyraís trust, but also begins to suspect that Kyra is not who his employer has led him to believe. As Reyes feelings for Kyra grows he begins to struggle with his sense of duty and his burgeoning love.

Skin Game characters and story are wonderful and sure to grab readerís attention. Kyra is such a strong yet vulnerable character that readerís will champion even if she is not entirely on the right side of the law. Reyes is the perfect complement to Kyra because he also has a tough exterior that protects his softer side. Combined Kyra and Reyes are fantastic together and their new love for each other is great to watch as it develops. Ava Gray has created characters that readers will be able to empathize with, and yet will guiltily cheer as they battle those that stand in their way of a life together. This is my first time reading Ava Gray but with this wonderful introduction to her work, I am sure that it wonít be my last.
