Gemma Halliday has written a laugh out loud book filled with gossip, scandals, and dirt - but also threats and death. The title, Scandal Sheet was nothing like I expected but I feel in love with all the characters.
The L.A. Informer is one the top tabloid magazines. They are up to date on the latest gossip and scandals about the local celebrities.
Tina Bender is the top gossip columnist and she seems to know everything about everyone and has never been afraid to print it. But it seems things are about to change in her near future. She has been on the receiving end of several threats. The first being; “if you don’t stop writing about me, you’re dead.” When the new managing editor, Felix Dunn, hears about it he hires bodyguard, Calvin Dean. Tina is not one to really feel she needs a bodyguard or as she likes to call him Rent-a-thug, plus other. rather special names.
Tina does not think these threats are anything to be concern with until someone breaks into her home where she lives with her grandmother. From there, things will escalate and rent-a-thug turns into Bodyguard number one! At one point - to protect her and her Grandma - he moves them into his home.
Tina has a secret admirer too, but only in cyber space. Could he be the one that’s threatening her? To what extent will Cal have to go to protect Tina? Will this ‘rent-a-thug’ turn into the love of her life or will cyber man take a place ahead of him?
You will love how Ms. Halliday has written this book. Her style of writing the relationship and conversations with Grandma will have you laughing so hard you will have to put the book down. Do not read in public unless you plan on explaining, which I loved doing, for it is a book I would recommend.
