Get out the asbestos gloves, because Ms. Jordan has written one of the hottest, sexiest books I have read in a very long time.

The Prince of Pleasure is the final book in the Hellfire League series. This time we get Dare’s story. As the last original member of the Hellfire League, he has earned his reputation as a rakehell and incomparable lover. No one, including himself, realizes he lives a life of hedonism and debauchery to cover the pain and heartache of a betrayal from his youth.

When Dare was young, he fell in love with a beautiful, sexy French émigré, Julienne Laurent. While lovers, they fell in love and decided to marry. Dare’s grandfather, the Marquess of Wolverton, was vehemently opposed to the union. He believed that she was a gold-digger and a whore. He didn’t want her to "soil" the Wolverton bloodlines. When Dare proved stubborn he took matters into his own hands and ruthlessly shredded two hearts, and ruined Julienne’s life and reputation forever. Reeling from her betrayal, Dare leaves her and embarks on the path that leads him back to her years later.

Julienne has survived. She has rebuilt her life and is now a successful and much sought after stage actress in London. She also has a dilemma, not wanting to be at the mercy of any man again, she doesn’t plan on choosing a protector as most actresses do to supplement their meager salaries. But because of her beauty and aloofness, she is eagerly pursued and she devises a plan, by stating that she will not choose a lover until the end of the season. What she doesn’t plan on is Dare, the new Marquess of Wolverton, joining the fray. What she isn’t aware of is that Dare is an agent for the British government and suspects her of treason. Is she in league with the ruthless, deadly Lord Caliban? Lord Caliban is responsible for the deaths of a number of agents and innocent people connected to Lord Castlereagh, the foreign ambassador orchestrating the restoration of the French king, Louis the XVII.

Julienne and Dare have a history that is hot, passionate, volatile and emotional. I fell in love with both of them. They have both been hurt and yet have managed to turn out to be good people. Ms. Jordan has outdone herself in this one. The sex is hot and frequent and they give new meaning to the word combustible. So handle this one with asbestos gloves, keep plenty of ice water and your favorite instrument of pleasure at hand and sit back and enjoy this sexy, passionate romp. We get to see brief glimpses of the other former members of the League, and it is definitely welcome. I hope that along with me, you will cheer and rejoice as these two rediscover what they mean to each other.
