Meridia has no one she can talk to or hang out with, she is so lonely for companionship, she does not care who it is. Her father is cruel to her and her mother is a cold hearted woman. She knows something happened at the time of her birth to make her parents behave the way they do, but does not know what that something is. Her life improves, slightly when she meet and marries Daniel.

At first she is thrilled out of her skin she finally has people around her, but it is soon apparent she had it so much better at her parents house. Davidís mother, Eva controls her family with an unbending hand, both naturally and supernaturally, When Meridia starts going against Evaís wishes hell breaks out. Meridia faces heartbreak and betrayal from the most unlikely sources, the one true amazing miracle happens and her parents give her their support. The rivalry turns into a lifelong battle and Meridia matures into a fierce, a fiercely independent person and woman.

This was a unique book, there was ghosts, supernatural wonders, unexplained bumps in the night. The book is somewhat thick and some people may be put off by that, but stay with it and the reader will be treated to a world they will not soon forget. This is the debut novel of a talented new author.
