Famed author and actress Juliet Bridger is tired of her stuffy life. After fleeing her lavish 4th of July party, she dyes her hair black, buys a new wardrobe, and adopts the alias Autumn Leeves. While driving through small town after small town her beautiful pink mustang breaks down outside of the town of Plentiful, Wyoming.
After a rough delivery, veterinarian Cole Sheridan is driving home when he sees quite a sight, a pink mustang is on the side of road and appears to be broken down. Unsuccessful in trying to convince Juliet to ride into town with him, he hooks her car up to his truck and tows it into to town. Juliet is in town less then an hour when her wallet is stolen with no credit cards or money she is forced to pay off her debts by working. Since she also needs a place to stay she decides to take the nanny position for Cole’s five little “darlings.” Things change when Cole and Juliet share their first kiss.
In her latest novel, And Then He Kissed Me Patti Berg returns us to the town of Plentiful, Wyoming. I had a hard time putting this one down, and I found myself laughing throughout the book. Juliet was so fun and she seemed like the kind of person you would meet in the grocery store and become instant friends with. Cole was handsome and his determination to take care of his sisters five children was heartwarming and had this reader wishing he were real. The girls were great additions to the story, Holly, Jade, Carly, Chloe and Caitlin were little terrors who didn’t like nannies and their many attempts to get rid of the nannies were very funny. Ms.Berg never fails to please with her loveable characters and downright funny dialogue. I’m looking forward to her future work, and maybe another delightful tale from the wonderful town of Plentiful.
