Teresa, known as Toots to her friends and family, Amelia Loudenberry has just buried husband number 8, she has crammed a lot of living in her life. She is ready to start living again, she was not your typical widow, black was never her color.

When Toots learns the owner of the gossip rag her daughter works at is about to lose the business due to his gambling debt, she decides to buy it, without her daughter knowing about it. She enlists the help of her three dear friends, Ida, Mavis and Sophie, they have always been there for each other. They are off to California for a adventure none of them will soon forget.

When Toots gets wind that the owner of the rag took the money and fled to the Cayman Islands, her southern dander is flying all over the place, and the real adventure begins trying to get her justice on this two timing crook.

I have not read a Fern Michaels book in a long while. I am happy to say I was not disappointed in The Scoop. The fixes the Godmothers get themselves into were priceless! Toots just wanted the best for her daughter, as any mother would. She proves never count a southern widow out for the count. Can not wait until the next book in this series.
