Kate Brady’s debut novel, One Scream Away, is such a romantic thriller. Her writing reminds me of other authors that I have read - but even with that in mind, she has her own style. One that will not let you put this book down (I read it in two days). Her writing is unique and keeps you turning the pages. I would highly recommend this book to just about anyone and I look forward to the next one.

Beth Denison and her daughter, Abby, have a nice quiet life and it has been that way for the last seven years. She is hiding a secret not only to protect herself but also the most important person in her life, her daughter. At what cost will she do that and just how far will she have to go to save herself and her child?

Former FBI agent Neil Sheridan now works for a private security organization. He gave up his life with the FBI because of a case that may have gone wrong. Drinking is one way of facing the sorrow that he feels but when an old friend knocks on his door he will have to face those demons and the mistake he more than likely made.

Chevy Bankes has been paroled from prison and now his hunt is on. He will kill many women and send Beth some very expensive dolls with flaws. When Neil puts it together he knows that Beth has the answers and he will need her help. She must trust him and tell him everything. But does she? Will the sexual wanting these two have for each other hurt the investigation or only make Neil more protective of Beth? Will Abby be safe? Will Beth be One Scream Away from the help she may need?

Again I really enjoyed this book. Kate Brady is an upcoming talent and this is one great way to start a writing career. This book is a keeper for me.
