Emma Weatherfield has more than a few qualms when her bosses assign her to work as a temporary assistant to Damien Medici. It is common knowledge that Damien has been hired by Megalos-De Luca Enterprises to act as a sort of "hatchet man" as they cut costs. Her first meeting with him does nothing to calm her fears. The scar on Damien's cheek adds to the aura of his ruthless reputation.
Damien is all business with Emma, but he is attracted by her curves. So many women he meets go for the model thin look. Damien is serious about doing a good job, but he has his own hidden agenda. His family suffered from a wrong in the past from the De Lucas and Damien is looking to have revenge now that he has an opportunity.
As Emma and Damien work together, her fears turn to admiration. Damien has earned his wealth and is truly a self-made man. Under his tough exterior she senses a tenderness. Can having an office romance, that is bound to end, be a risk Emma's heart can take?
Leanne Banks has deftly drawn a hero and heroine who are believable with their less than perfect looks and conflicts. The tension between the two is palpable and makes the love scenes sizzle when they come. The length of this book may be short to fit the Silhouette Desire mode, but the plot is full blown and packs a wallop.
In the notes to readers, author Leanne Banks writes that Billionaire Extraordinaire is her 50th book. I have not read all fifty of her novels, but have become a big fan as I have read many of her recent ones. She will continue to be a "must read" author for me and I wish her continued success as she writes the next fifty.
