The second book in the Black CATs series, Pitch Black resumes the action begun in Fade to Black. The team has thwarted the Reaper and Satan's Playground is closed, but the predators who lurked on the cybersite are still out there, preying on the innocent. A new killer has stepped to the forefront, known only as the Professor.

FBI profiler Alec Lambert has joined the team after a disastrous mission that left him wounded and another agent dead. This may be his last chance to prove himself with the FBI. When a possible connection between one of the victims and a scam expert develops, Alec is eager to meet with the reclusive Samantha Dalton. She may have valuable insight into how the Professor lured his victims to their deaths.

Samantha Dalton has become a near recluse. Since the death of her grandmother and her divorce, she has devoted her time to exposing scam artists and warning the public about how to protect themselves. She is devastated to learn that someone from her site was murdered, and wants to help. When she becomes a target, the team will have to act fast to protect her.

Pitch Black is fast-paced and the tension continues to build as they get closer to finding the killer. Other related stories swirl in the background, leading to a devastating conclusion. I can't wait to read the final book in this trilogy.
