Dallas O’Halloran loved his job with the Air Force, but after rescuing a reporter and having his picture plastered all over the internet, his undercover position is ruined. Julianne Decatur is a tough a nails JAG lawyer, but after a controversial case, she finds herself out of the military and living as a civilian. When THOR (Team High-risk Operational Resources) pairs them together to investigate the possible murder of a Navy pilot, the two have to put their differences behind them and concentrate on uncovering a conspiracy.

As they work together they realize they make a great team, and if Dallas gets his way he’d like to see just how well they’d work together at a personal level. Julianne is a bit resistant about the idea at first, but quickly finds herself drawn more and more to her sexy partner. Unfortunately, work must come first and trying to narrow down the lists of suspects is proving rather difficult.

As the dead bodies begin to pile up, Dallas and Julianne begin to fear for their own lives – and for good reason. When the truly unthinkable happens, Julianne comes to realize that things aren’t always black and white, and it’s a very good thing to be partnered with a man who doesn’t always follow the rules.

This fourth High Risk novel is a fantastic addition to the series, and my personal favorite. It’s a great combination of romance and suspense with fantastic characters. While I always believe it best to read a series in order, I feel this a great stand alone book as well.
