Lady Brenna is banished from her family because she refused to marry the man her father chose for her. This is not a real bother because it gives her the opportunity to paint erotic art. Her entire life changes when her sister is being force to marry James Montgomery, the King's Enforcer. Her milksop sister begs her to take her place and kill him to save her father and his lands, so Brenna agrees, but the plan goes horribly wrong and Brenna has to pay the price.
James Montgomery is determined to do the bidding of the king and quiet the voices of rebels. In order to do that he must marry one of the daughters. When he finds out he has married the wrong daughter, he is angry at the trickery, but intrigued by his wife. He decides to seduce her until she is crazed with passion for him, but he finds he is insatiable for her. Then when Brenna's secret paintings are revealed, James does not know if he can save her from the fate of the crown's punishment.
The Pleasures of Sin is a wonderful page turner. It is a Cinderella story with a twist. Lady Brenna is strong, artistic, and determined. Her character represents a woman seeking to take her own fate into her own hands, in a time women held no rights at all. I love how her character is able to conquer with her wits and not her wiles. You will find yourself totally engulfed in this story. The plot is solid and the love scenes are hot. I am looking forward to reading more from her.
