Unlike her brothers, Saige Buchanan has always believed in the existence of monsters and her inevitable destiny to become a Merrick and fight evil. Her talent at touching objects and getting a sense of their history is helping her to locate the Markers which the Merrick needs to fight the Casus. Unfortunately the Casus are willing to do whatever necessary to get the Markers before the Merrick do.
Michael Quinn is sent to South America to find Saige and bring her back home. The first bodyguard sent to protect her hasnít made contact and is feared dead. Michael finds himself immediately attracted to Saige, but is determined to ignore said attraction because he has no intention of ever again having a long term relationship with a woman.
Within moments of finding Saige in a small bar, she is on the run for her life and Michael finds himself having to save her. His ability to shift into a raptor gives them an advantage, but the Casus is still a dangerous enemy. Soon Saige learns the lengths to which the Casus will go to get their hands on the Marker, and to kill her.
On their journey home, Michael tries to convince Saige to take his blood, which would allow her to complete her transformation into a Merrick, but heís not willing to consummate their relationship. Saige stubbornly refuses to take one without the other and Michael is frustrated because her refusal means sheís weaker than she needs to be.
This second in the Primal Instinct series continues the story of the Buchanan family and their destiny to fight evil. The action keeps the story moving at a fast pace, keeping readers turning the pages as quickly as possible. Both Saige and Michael are strong characters, and a perfect compliment to the other. Canít wait to see whatís in store for Riley Buchannan.
