Is Valentine’s Day one of your favorite holidays? Well to Lucy Wingate it was until she was in fourth grade and the one boy she liked broke her heart. Since then she has never liked Valentine’s Day and tries to ignore it every year.

When Lucy came home from school with the handmade Valentine and half a cookie from Michael Donnelly, she was heartbroken and crying to her grandmother. She knew her grandmother would make it better, but her grandmother said, “Love is Patient”. At the time Lucy did not understand and still didn’t 20 some years later, until another Valentine’s Day party.

Now 20 some years later, will she make the same mistake as she did when she was in 4th grade at the Valentine’s Day Party? Will love still be patient and kind after all these years? Well that is something you will have to find out for yourself.

Once again Pamela Johnson has given the readers a delightful short story. Love Is Patient is about a broken heart that time hasn’t seem to be able to heal after many years. But if one is patient love will heal and love is kind. Even though it's short, this story it will draw you in and not let you go until you are finished. Just because Pamela Johnson writes short stories as well as full length, none of her stories are to be missed. I have read Love Is Patient before and it still had the same appeal as it did the first time around.
