Celeste Parker was not having a good day! Her live-in boyfriend decided they need time apart and left. The same day Celeste saw an ad for a Bed & Breakfast and off she went for a stay.
The owner of the Bed & Breakfast, Iris, is a sweetheart of a woman. Just like any woman with thoughts and motivations of her own. Her motivation is to get the garden that was once beautiful back to its former glory and she does this with Celeste.
Celeste takes the challenge of the garden and gazebo and turns it around to what it once was. Along with the garden returning to its former glory comes haunting dreams as well. She tells Iris of this recurring dream and Iris is shaken by it. Little does Celeste know what will happen in the next day or so.
I will say that Celeste does find out the meaning of her dream. And boy, does the dream have some good and not so good consequences to it.
Garden of Dreams is also a short story. It is amazing how, in all the short stories by Pamela Johnson, she wraps them up so well, with little or no doubt in your mind that the characters will have a happily ever after life.
