Carlotta Wren is still recovering from a broken arm thanks to a previous escapade, but she is ready for her first day back at work for her day job with Neiman Marcus. The store has a big event planned with Olympic athlete Eva McCoy promoting charm bracelets similar to her own that has brought her good luck. 4 Bodies and a Funeral is the fourth in author Stephanie Bond's Body Movers series. The author blends in pertinent facts from the previous three novels to bring the reader up to date. The cover has a subtitle of "A Sexy Mystery", which truly fits this installment of the series. Both Carlotta and Wesley crank up the sizzle factor in their intimate relationships. Carlotta is a smart, competent heroine and comes into her own as a sleuth in catching the "bad guy". Poor Wesley is smart, but severely flawed with addictions that have led to trouble with characters on both sides of the law. You wonder if the traumas of his early years are at the root of his troubles and have to admire Carlotta's unconditional love for him.
4 Bodies and a Funeral combines fast paced mystery with spicy romance. It is a captivating tale in Ms. Bond's growing body of work. The ending will leave you hungry for book five, which will be available in May 2009.
