Cassandra Palmer is the current Pythia, an omnipotent clairvoyant, for the supernatural community. Cassieís lack of experience and her independence has placed a target on her head and has all who want to control her and canít gunning for her. Cassie is trying to learn more about her abilities but with mages out for her blood, Cassie is finding it hard to learn. Just when Cassie thinks things canít get worse Apollo, the source of the Pythiaís powers, has set his sights on her for getting in the way of his plans to return to this realm and rule. Dodging threats from all sides is becoming the norm for Cassie but itís her feelings for a certain master vampire that leaves her off balance.

Curse the Dawn is a fantastic read that I couldnít put down. Cassie is a tough character that faces her problems head on no matter what. I love Cassieís and Mirceaís relationship and the feelings they possess for one another even though they are not a hundred percent sure of those feelings since they developed so quickly. Cassieís predicament with her prickly friend Pritkin was a hoot to read about and greatly enjoyable, so are their moments of attraction.

I adore Karen Chanceís Cassie Palmer series and always look forward to learning more about her. Karen Chance has created a world filled with various interesting characters that are both entertaining and delicious to watch develop and one that readers are going to want to visit again and again. I canít wait to find out where Karen Chance next plans to take these marvelous characters too.
