The third Nocturne City novel finds Luna Wilder even more conflicted than before. After ticking off too many people on the force, she finds herself on the SWAT team instead of Homicide. If that wasn't bad enough, Bryson, her main antagonist in Homicide, can't seem to solve any cases without her. As if she wanted to help that scum. He just won't take no for an answer.
Her boyfriend Dmitri can't seem to remember that she works with men, and his jealousy is raging out of control. He is pressuring her to become his mate, but she knows that is the road to disaster. So they fight about her job, her lack of commitment and everything else.
When werewolves start turning up dead, Luna finds herself drawn back into murder investigations against her better judgement. Something mighty powerful has killed the weres, and that means danger for everyone else in Nocturne City.
Author Caitlin Kittredge just keeps honing her craft with each new book. Second Skin has some pretty creepy elements and page-turning action. Readers who enjoy good solid urban fantasy will enjoy this installment in the series.
