Erin James is almost finished with her reporting assignment. “The Bachelor Chronicles” includes a series of interviews with Portland’s most eligible bachelors. Erin’s subjects have all reaffirmed her opinion of rich, shallow, spoiled men like her ex-husband. That is, until she meets Jared Warfield.
Jared may be a successful businessman, but he is not afraid of hard work or being self-sufficient. He even has accepted the ultimate responsibility - the guardianship of his young niece, following the death of his sister Carolyn. His down-to-earth charm eases Erin’s distrust, but his own experience with the press has left him wary.
It was a pleasure to turn the pages of The Bachelor Chronicles to see how two deserving people overcome their fears and insecurities to find each other. The story moved quickly at a natural pace. While it is not as sensual as a Temptation or Blaze, romance readers will appreciate the depth of emotion it contains. New author Lissa Manley has done a fine job with her debut novel, and I look forward to her next work, The Bridal Chronicles.
