Duchess Camille is prisoner in her own palace. She is living in constant fear of what her evil husband is going to do to her for her inability to produce and heir to the duchy. Instead of sitting around and waiting for the other shoe to fall she develops a plan for escape with her maid, lover, and her two eunuchs. Camille plans to escape to Maxim, the man that gave her body its first sexual awareness.
On this journey, Camille begins to discover the woman that has been forced to lie dormant under the cruel hand of her husband. She learns to really appreciate her own strength and sexuality. The question is can she draw from that strength and face her husband when it is time to overthrown his rule?
Victoria Janssen has written a highly sexually charged story about good versus evil and the choices a woman has to make in the face of adversity. Her character Camille is strong, committed, and has a sense of honor mostly found in knights in shining romances. This is a well-developed story and you will enjoy reading it.
