By her father`s last will and testament, Samantha Elliot is thrown into the middle of a hunt for a woman who disappeared many years ago. The woman who was supposed to be her grandmother, but Samantha is unconvinced.

Also looking for the woman is Michael Taggert, who is also Samantha`s landlord and guardian, according to the will. Easily the sexiest man she`d ever seen, she failingly tries to resist the New Yorker`s charm, but to no avail.

Soon the two find themselves thrown into a mystery from decades before, of one fatal night where a blues singer`s life came to an end, and lives changed forever. But will the past repeat itself and tear Samantha and Michael apart?

This book, by far and away, is the best contemporary I`ve read in a really long time. Michael`s cool wit and humor kept me chuckling as I turned the page to see what would happen next, easily keeping me awake most of the night! Samantha was a perfect match for Michael, who is bewitched by the minx who`s now all alone in the world, which is something he could never understand because he has a family large enough to fill Central Park - literally!

If you see Sweet Liar in your bookstore, be sure to pick it up! You won`t regret it!
