Maddie Springer’s wedding day is getting closer. And with the quickly approaching date comes all the last minute duties. Final fitting of the wedding gown, meeting with the wedding planner, tasting the wedding cake, ordering place cards… When Maddie goes to meet with her wedding planner, Gigi, for the cake tasting, she is stunned to find Gigi face down in the butter cream icing, a cake knife in her back.
With Maddie’s fiancé a detective, Maddie has no choice but to jump into the investigation. After all, Jack’s attention was completely focused on the murder—and not on Maddie. And the faster this mystery is solved, the faster Maddie can be back in Jack’s arms. Unless, the murderer gets to her first…
Mayhem In High Heels is the final book in Ms. Halliday’s page turning High Heels series. I read the first book in the series, and couldn’t help but identify with the quick thinking fashion diva, Maddie. She’s loveable, and trouble…with a capital T. I didn’t warm up to her fiancé as much I would have liked, but the other males in the book are very well developed and interesting, like Marco, a flashy fun man who makes a living as a pedicurist, and Felix, a pushing British Journalist, acting as Maddie’s side-kick, and stand-in groom when Jack isn’t present.
There is some language in this book and sexual content. And I didn’t figure out who the murderer was until the end of the book. But this is the perfect book to read as Valentine’s Day approaches and one starts dreaming of romance, weddings, and … murder.
