Tamara Briggs is having a terrible time at a charity event because her date is turning out to be a dud. No sex appeal whatsoever and Tamara is facing the facts that she needs some basic sexual chemistry. As she contemplates this fact, she walks straight into a male body full of sexual chemistry. Elec Monroe is an almost twenty-six year old rookie NASCAR race car driver and he sends Tamara’s hormones skyrocketing!

From the moment she spilled wine down his shirt, Elec was hooked on Tamara. A night of raw passion ensues but come morning, she is reluctant to agree to a date. Tamara has two young children, she is older than Elec, and she has a father-in-law who despises the Monroe family. Talk about complications. But Elec is made of sturdier stuff and he wants Tamara, however he can have her. In fact, the more time he spends with her, the more he is coming to realize he wants forever with her.

Oh Erin McCarthy, how I have missed your wonderful contemporary romances! Flat-Out Sexy is pure bliss! Elec may be younger than Tamara but he knows his mind and his determination to woo Tamara is fantastic to read about. Tamara has her doubts about how they can make any type of relationship work, but I was glad to see she did not let those doubts hold her back for too long. The more she got to know Elec and understand his heart, the harder she fell for him. Elec tries to bond with her young children too, but not to the point where it became too cutesy or saccharine. Rather, he just showed them he was a nice guy who cared very deeply for their mom. Respect, trust, and a blooming and hot romance developed very nicely in this story.

Set in the edgy world of racing, Flat-Out Sexy is charming, amusing and well, just flat-out fun.
