Garrett Mortimer is a centuries old vampire who hunts rogue vampires for a living. Rogues pose a danger to his people; the reckless feeding on humans threatens to expose them to the world. His last assignment was a bit more than he bargained for and he is hoping this latest one in scenic cottage country will be less adventurous. Then he and his team mates meet their lovely neighbors the Willan sisters, Samantha, Alexandra, and Jo. Mortimer’s attraction to Sam is almost instantaneous and it is evident that she is his mate – whether he wants her or not.
Sam is a workaholic, driven lawyer who just wants to spend a few days lazing by the lake with her sisters at their cottage. The three odd but good looking guys in the neighboring cottage and a power outage get the weekend off to a wonky start. As attractive as she finds Mortimer she is leery of men and relationships after recently breaking up with her fiancé. Then she begins to notice strange things about Mortimer and his friends and it is damn near impossible to resist Mortimer’s sexy appeal but if what she is beginning to suspect is true – that Mortimer is a vampire – how will they reconcile her mortality and his immortality?
The Rogue Hunter is the first book in Lynsay Sands’s Argeneau spin-off Rogue Hunter series. Yes, the Argeneaus do pop in for a visit. Some of those long hinted at Argeneau family secrets begin to see the light in the midst of all the hot lovin’, suspense, and hilarity. The Rogue Hunter is very well plotted and a great deal of fun to read.
