In Nocturne City, evil never sleeps. As a homicide detective, Luna Wilder knows all about evil. The last murderer she faced nearly killed her.
Back from medical leave, Luna has several changes to deal with. First of all, she has a new captain, female and hard as nails. Second, that same captain has assigned Luna to work with a partner – that’s right, a partner. Last but not least, the partner in question has a penchant for pink, high heels and her blue-blood connection to one of the city’s oldest witching families.
If all this weren’t enough, she is also going through Dmitri-withdrawal. After being infected with a demon bite while saving her life, the handsome werewolf was ordered back to the Ukraine by his clan, and ordered to stay away from Luna.
When bodies start turning up all over the city, Luna and Shelby are thrust right into the middle of a witchcraft war. Will they become collateral damage or can they put an end to the centuries-old feud?
The second book in the Nocturne City series, Pure Blood picks up right where Night Life ends. Author Caitlin Kittredge skillfully reveals more layers of the world she has created. Luna and her own dysfunctional family have nothing on the founding fathers. She is astonished to learn that even princesses like Shelby have problems. The characterization continues to grow, giving readers more to like about the series. I look forward to the next book from this talented new author.
