With the cryptic words, “The Past is with you. Always.” Twisted Shadows captures the reader from the first sentence on, with immediate action, dramatic suspense, and intriguing mystery.
‘Normalcy’ for 35 year old Samantha Carroll was her every day life, running the ‘Western Wonders Art Gallery’ she and her mother owned in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. When two men come into the shop one day, her entire life is turned upside down, and ‘normalcy’ is thrown out the window; things will never be the same for her again.
Samantha (Sam) learns the man who raised her wasn’t her real father. And that she has a twin brother. After confronting her mother with the information, Sam is finally convinced of the truth: her biological father is a Boston Mob crime boss named Paul Merritta, and she really does have a twin brother named Nicholas.
Paul Merritta is dying and wants to see his daughter. Against her mother’s wishes, Sam travels to Boston. On arrival, at the airport, she meets Nathan MacLean.
Nate is a FBI Special Agent, and he’s spent years trying to bring down the Merritta family and end their reign of organized crime. He wants revenge. He wants justice. Nate thinks he can use Sam to get to her brother Nicholas (heir to the Merritta business). But, he doesn’t count on falling in love with her. That complicates everything.
