Cheyenne Maddox wakes up with no memory; not of whom she is, what happened to cause the amnesia, why she was in pain, why she felt fear, and WHY --- she was sitting naked in a stranger’s bathtub! And, until she can find the answers to those questions, she would have to rely on the steadfast stranger who found her.

Brede Kristensen is a man with a lot of emotional baggage. Raising a rebellious daughter on his own, Brede long ago hardened his heart against ever falling in love again. He doesn’t trust women, and is determined to avoid marriage at all costs. When he finds “Lynne” (Cheyenne) in the midst of a ferocious storm, the last thing on his mind is a relationship.

But Lynne/Cheyenne can’t help falling in love with Brede, no matter how many times she tells herself it’s wrong. She desperately needs to remember her past and why she was running away. The last thing she wants is to bring danger into the lives of Brede and his daughter Gretchen.

This story carries an emotional impact. The characters are well-drawn, enabling the reader to easily understand the reasons Cheyenne and Brede fight to keep from falling in love. More a plot about true love, the mystery of Cheyenne’s past plays a very minor role, but will not deter from the book’s satisfying ending.

A good quick read by an author whose talent is bringing her characters alive for the reader!
