Stuck on You by Patti Berg offers us all of the ingredients for a romantic comedy. The heroine, Scarlett OíMalley, is a corkscrew redhead with a penchant for stiletto heels and belly button rings. The hero, Logan Wolfe, is a dark, mysterious ex-cop with enough sex appeal to melt stone. Toss in the fact that Scarlett and her group of mystery readers see conspiracies around every corner, and you should be well on the way. Somehow this combination just didnít work for me.
I really liked Scarlett and Logan. Their steamy scenes between the sheets left me wishing for a cold shower. But the rest of the story left me wondering what I was missing. Maybe I have visions of Stephanie Plum in by head, but the comedic aspects did not go far enough, and the mystery left me cold. It had a nice twist at the end, but by then I was glad it was the end.
Fans of the authorís other novels, particularly Born to Be Wild, will pick this one up as an auto-buy. I would wait until it hit the library.
